Elise Roberts

Elise Roberts is a seasoned media strategist and award-winning journalist. Most recently, she
led the news and programming division at theGrio, the premier Black media network founded by
Byron Allen. Prior to that, Elise led news teams at CNN and its sister station: Headline News. A
proud native of Marietta, GA, Elise began her career in journalism at WMAZ-TV in Macon,
Georgia, where she quickly made a name for herself.
Throughout her career, Elise has garnered numerous accolades, including Associated Press,
NAACP awards and Emmy nominations. She was also recognized as one of the 30 Under 30 by
the Mississippi Association of Black Journalists. Her journey continued at Spectrum News in
Charlotte, NC, where she served as both a reporter and primary anchor, reaching an impressive
one million statewide viewers each weekend and covering significant national stories such as
the Democratic National Convention and Hurricane Katrina.
With a knack for powerful storytelling, Elise has interviewed a host of high-profile personalities,
including Bill Cosby, Michael Jordan, and the late Dr. Maya Angelou. Today, as a newsroom
executive and media strategist, Elise helps train and coach the next era of journalists
professionals dedicated to impactful news coverage.
Elise is also deeply committed to her community, having served on the boards of the American
Red Cross and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, where she is dedicated to uplifting the next
generation. Elise frequently shares her expertise as a speaker at various events, aiming to
inspire future journalists and leaders.
Elise is an alumna of Kennesaw State University and Tulane University, and she completed a
leadership management program at Harvard Business School in 2019. With her wealth of
experience and passion for media, Elise Roberts continues to make a significant impact in the
industry and her community.
